The original artwork used for this piece is The Small Morning by Runge. Glitch art is made by corrupting or messing with the coding and properties that make up some sort of digital media. I chose this painting due to how tragic I found it. I love tragedy. It depicts the goddess Aurora and the entire process of life; the sides of the painting specifically are evidence of this. The tragic aspect comes from the fact that this is actually a smaller painting intended as a sort of blueprint for a much larger version meant for installation in a cathedral. Unfortunately, the artist succumbed to illness before he could complete it, its so sad
To glitchify this artwork, I processed it through various software in different formats. The image was transformed into numbers, then into music, then transformed back into an image.
